True story....went in last night so in the mood for BBQ...while we were deciding what to order, the guy behind the counter with long blonde hair, lifted his hat with one hand....and drug his other hand dangling a glove he intended to put on....and dragged his fingers and dangling glove through his greasy long hair.....as he asked what we wanted to order....he proceeded to put the glove he just wiped through his hair on his hand in preparation to touch whatever we ordered.....we decided to get out of dodge and told the guy exactly why we were leaving. We found Brickyard BBQ on Google and ate there instead. Much more sanitary experience! I called today and spoke with a manager named James....and he really gave the impression that he couldn't possibly care any less. Will not be back ever again, which is a shame, as we live so close.

Reluctantly came back for the food they forgot to give us on previous order because the food was so bad. But the woman working there was much nicer than the guy I previously done business with up there. She apologized about the food and seem to really care. The food was much better this time. Go earlier in the day if your gonna go.

Picked up family meal recently. I hadn't done that in a year or so. I cannot believe how dirty the restaurant is. The tables, the floor....ugh! The food was ok, but can't do the unsanitary conditions. It is unfortunate because we live close and BBQ is a great way to feed a family. I am saddened by the downfall of this place.

Out of ribs?? How the heck does that happen at a BBQ place? On a Monday with 2 people in the whole place?? Then an employee gets up from eating a meal and starts working behind the counter without washing his hands. You decide if you want to eat here or not.

We eat here about twice a month and each time we find ourselves wondering why we go back. Each visit, we experience issues with the food and service. I can only assume they have terrible management. Here are some examples of what we have encountered: tough rib meat, cold mashed potatoes, all BBQ sauce empty at 5pm, no answer when trying to place a phone order, not enough people working, always new people on staff, etc. Tonight my husband picked up a to-go order and my ribs were so tough, they were barely edible. Here's the kicker- there was a used plastic glove in our bag with our food. Yuck! This place needs to get it together! If another BBQ joint comes into the area, they will go out if business!

The meat comes from a plastic bag. There is no smoker on site. I come from a place where BBQ joints have a smoker that they smoke the meat in. The sides are lacking in taste. The fries are good Mac and cheese is good but it's made with some sort of cheese sauce and also comes from a bag. The BBQ has no taste the sauce is the only thing to make it ok, I'm used to BBQ that I can eat plain no sauce if I want and it's still succulent, juicy, and smoky. Anyway I find this to be the same for the other BBQ place I tried, flavorless just not good. Unless the BBQ place your going to has a smoker it's not gonna be anywhere near good, Period. The staff is nice so that's why it has 2 stars.

Absolutely pathetic!!!! Do not expect to get your first choice of food here. They do have delicious food, but sadly this dickeys is ALWAYS out of something. They are absolutely dreadful at determining how much food they will need to make it past 6 o'clock, even though their sign says it's open until 9. My family and I came in three days in a row, only to find they were out of numerous sides and even most of their main dishes. We actually even called ahead to have them save three potatoes while we drove the five minutes to the restaurant. When we got there, they had already sold out of them and they had straight lied to us. Seriously, how do you run out of baked potatoes by 6:15 three days in a row??? Nevertheless, we left empty handed, hungry, and looking for a new reliable place to enjoy BBQ. Maybe someone with some sense can help these people realize that turning people away at 6 o'clock won make them money. Go for lunch or not at all because they won't have your food anyways.

I had the Texas brisket, fried onions, and fried okra. The fried onions were great but the okra was not that great - they had too much of a coating for my taste. The roll that came with it was great. They had three BBQ sauces that you could get, all three were great. I texted to their special and received a text that said receive a FREE Fountain Drink in a BIG Yellow Cup with your purchase. I took that to mean my purchase of food since it did not say with another purchase of said drink. The cashier said we had to buy one. The BBQ was pretty good, and the employees always seemed busy. They were out of something (the guy in front of us was trying to order something). It was OK, a bit different. They had a picture of Ronald Reagan with three other people. A lot of signs - reminded me of American Pickers.

Called 3 times in a ten minute period for delivery at 5:30, rang to voicemail each time. Open Til 9 but I guess we'll have to try it some other time.

I was very surprise at not only how good this Dickey's was, but the amount of food I got. I hate leaving a place and still being hungry. That was not the case here. Plus --- the free ice cream was a good ending.

I went back here for the 2nd time and I won't be going back again. Nothing wrong with the service or anything, the food just isn't good. The meat lacks flavor, the sides are bad. Everything seems cheap and low quality.

Pretty disappointed overall. I couldn't believe they were out of turkey and chicken at 615p. We stood in a short line for what seemed like 10 minutes. They said they had more meat cooking and would be available in 30 minutes! Decided not to wait and tried other items on the menu. The portions and what you pay don't line up well. Won't be back

I used to be a big fan of County Line BBQ and have not found a place since that has compared locally since County Line closed. Today after a long day of baseball tournament games we decided to try this this place. I have to say the service was wonderful. The menu is tight and easy to process. I needed this after a hot day out in the sun. We ordered the XL family meal. Picked up 2 orders of ribs, one spicy cheese sausage and our 3 sides. I added some extra mac-n-cheese for those growing boys. We found the food to be really good and will certainly go back for more. I tried their spicy BBQ sauce too and it was spot on. Not too hot, but plenty of flavor. Thank you Dickey's. Good stuff over there.

A heat and serve BBQ joint in a strip mall. Clearly, they get their meat delivered from elsewhere and basically keep it warm for you to arrive. I really like sausage but wasn't crazy about their cheddar sausage. The other sausage they have (polish I think) is alright. Their beans are just okay and their brisket is probably your best bet. Considering your options in the close proximity this is probably your best choice but it won't go down in history as the tastiest BBQ you've had in your entire life. Their saving grace may be their sauce, I've had a couple of mouthfuls of fat on my visits.

It is obvious by the reviews that a lot of people haven't had good BBQ. Good doesn't describe Dickeys. Here's my review: Wow! Dickeys turned out to be the disappointment of the year. The first night I tried, I was not allowed to place a phone order due to time. It was 8:30 PM. Ironically I was told that I could come in even in 1 minute before close and dine in. Strike 1. The next night, we called in our phone order earlier. We picked up our dinner and what a let down it was. When you think bbq joint, you think about good sized portions. This was not the case. I ordered a 2 meat plate. What I received for my ribs were 2 rib bones with dried, charred meat and a spoonful of pulled pork. On top of it, there were no rolls included despite the online menu saying rolls were served. Famous Dave's charges the same price but you get a lot more and much better taste and quality. This was one first and last time eating Dickeys. If you want good food, try Famous Dave's. if you want a smal plate with bad taste and low quality, eat at Dickeys.

Usually ok food but very disappointed tonight. Ribs were so dry they were like jerky and inedible. They should not have sold them. Chicken and pulled pork dry as well. We're they leftover from lunch? No more pickles either.

I was impressed! The meat was delicious and the food actually looked like a real BBQ and not a franchise microwave meal. Tasted fresh to.

Tried it when it first opened and was disappointed. Bun to meat ratio was way off...dry meat with a big doughy bun and overpriced. Still has a ways to go before its even close to as good as Brothers.

I've been a couple times now. Food is okay...not great. The real issue I have with this location is the service. They are VERY slow. Part of that I think is because of the "flavor enhancing" process explained by review Jo H. Both times I ate there I found something weird about them smashing the meat with their hands and fingers to get that "pulled" texture but it didn't bother me quite as much as Jo H. The second time I went they actually were out of chicken, which really disappointed me. I'm not much a meat eater so this threw me for a loop. I was really surprised that at 7 PM on a weekday they'd be completely out of chicken with no plans to cook more for the night. In addition to the slowness of service, I felt the employees weren't all that personable. In fact, it seemed to me like the cashier and sides guy were kind of bickering back and forth when we were paying for our meal. So all in all, the whole experience is rather blah. I haven't given up on it though. I will go back because I WANT to see it improve because I think they have something unique to the area. Plus, their BBQ sauces are pretty tasty.

Not bad BBQ for fast food BBQ... It sits in plastic wrap until its ordered... That tells me there isnt a high turn over of their products....

Dickey's is based in Dallas, TX and is definitely Texas style BBQ. They use dry rub with a slow-smoke cooking method to achieve tender and well flavored meats. Something you don't see in many Denver BBQ establishments, is you get to speak directly to the "pit boss" (guy that cuts your meat) so you can tell him exactly what you want. I love the beef brisket sliced thick and never chopped & pressed. Also, I don't let them sauce my meat I order it dry and add the sauce at the table. The pork ribs are really tender and the smoked turkey is moist and flavorful too. The Highlands Ranch location does not have the buffet style line for side items. Instead, you tell a server what you want and they fix your entire plate. Drinks, BBQ sauce and pickles are self serve and they also have complimentary soft serve vanilla ice cream. Dickey's recently catered an event for our company and the food was a giant hit with everyone.

We love having a BBQ place close by here in Highlands Ranch. The food is delicious (pulled pork sandwich is my favorite) and the kids love the complimentary ice cream cones for dessert!

Solid, if uninspired chain BBQ. My dad likes this place so we go to the Dickey's in Highlands Ranch now & then. My first exposure to Dickey's was in the DFW terminal waiting for a flight home. Not the best way to try Texas 'cue. I usually go for the daily special plate. Last night was supposed to be three ribs; however, they were out, and the wait was 30 minutes. I settled for chopped brisket, with sides of coleslaw and beans with bacon. The brisket was tasty, the sauces forgettable. Beans were pretty salty. All in all, decent BBQ, nothing spectacular.

Normally I love Dickies BBQ however this store is filthy. Booths may have never been wiped down, flies everywhere, floor is slippery. Yuck

Awful, Horrible. Nasty. I mean really, really nasty dirty. I can take a shoddy environment if the food is good but the food was overall terrible . . . . actually some of the items were not edible. How in the world is this place still open?

The Dickey's I used to go to closed, so I was happy to see this location listed when I looked up restaurants after spending the afternoon swimming with the family. We've always enjoyed Dickey's... You don't exactly expect an amazing dining experience when you go to one, but it's good anyway. The brisket is good, the mac and cheese is kinda watery but not terrible, the coleslaw was great, and the fried okra was... eh, alright. (Admittedly I'm used to Rib City's fried okra and their sauce is amazing, so... ymmv.) Most importantly, their BBQ sauce is good. (I just had the regular. However, my husband had the sweet & spicy and commented that the spicy pretty much drowned out the sweet, so... there's that.) I can't really comment on the dining area as we got our food to go, but from what I saw the five minutes I was sitting while our food was being put together, the place is kinda dirty and everything has a slight stickiness to it. It was rush hour, though, and to be honest it wasn't bad for how busy it was. I'm glad we found a Dickey's near us again, but I still prefer Rib City (on Mineral & Broadway) over these guys any day. I do like the way Dickey's does their brisket, though, and my husband's always been a fan, so I'm sure we'll end up coming back here again soon. PS - kids eat free Sundays. Woohoo!

I ordered the 2 Meat plate. The Ribs and the Pulled pork. Though the Ham was a runner up as well, with Mac And Cheese and Baked Beans. The portions are almost on par with Yazoo BBQ. And the Prices are great. Though they are more expensive in Colorado Mills mall. Go figure. I assume its not actually cooked in an open pit but hey the flavor was packed in every bite and the meat was juicy and not dry. On my co-horts plate i tried the brisket which im not usually a fan of and it was delicious and tasted great with no sauce.

I was really hoping that I would be good but overall I was disappointed. I got the family XL meal which is 3 pounds of meat (3x1lb portions), 3 medium sides, and 8 rolls. The side dishes are very small in proportion and cost of the meal ($48) and the only gave me six rolls. The meat was very below average for BBQ. I got the chopped brisket, pulled pork, and ribs. The ribs were horrible, extremely dry. The brisket was the best of the meats but still not even close to what I would expect from a restaurant that has BBQ in its name. As for the pulled pork, it tasted like it was cooked yesterday and microwaved as leftovers. 2 of the 3 sides I chose were pretty good (Mac n cheese and Jalapeño baked beans) but I didn't care for the bacon green beans. The rolls where dry, I had to put butter on them and I usually don't on good bread. Dickey's is a fast food restaurant not a BBQ joint. If you show up with low expectations as you would at Taco Bell, then you may just enjoy the food. It is very close to my house so I will probably eat there again because of the convenience.
